Completing the Square

with one comment


One of the examples I used a lot during the development of the Number Plumber was this Completing the Square Example. It’s a good test case since quite a bit is happening in it. I haven’t tried to develop it into an educational resource, but there’s potential here. It’s hard for students to see the reason for the algebraic rearrangements involved in completing the square. It’s a real “Can’t see the woods for the trees topic” for many. The Number Plumber example makes the big picture very clear.
